Abstract:
The development of professional dance in Slovakia is naturally historically connected with Czech Artists, Teachers and Theorists personalities who were helping to develop the art of dance in theatres, were working in the field of education and dance science. The subject of the paper is to introduce the key personalities who shaped the choreology in Slovakia, specifically on Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. The paper is indirectly related to the paper entitled “The research Centre of the Academy of Performing Arts” presented at the international conference in Prague in 2022. The author presents the importance of mutual cooperation through a short historical overview (introducing personalities who stood at the founding of the Dance Department of Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava(VŠMU), gives concrete examples of cooperation between VŠMU and AMU from the distant and recent past (cross-fertilization of knowledge on the different projects) and introduces current projects involving Czech experts (congresses, projects KEGA).
