Abstract:
The article focuses on health issues in the field of professional dance from the perspective of dance medicine. It outlines the historical development of this multidisciplinary discipline and current trends in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of dance-related injuries. Furthermore, it explores physical and mental preparation, nutrition and recovery, injury prevention and rehabilitation, as well as the impact of modern technologies and innovations on dancers’ health. The study incorporates data from recent surveys conducted in the Czech Republic and places them in a broader international context. The aim is to provide recommendations on how to integrate holistic care for both body and mind into the education and professional practice of dancers.
