Živá hudba

Abstrakt:
At first this paper defines the function of the bass as the basis of harmonic hierarchy. After that are observed the different forms of the bass in particular periods of history. The focus is on three systems of harmonic signage – figured bass, functional tonality and jazz harmony. The thesis is based on the concept of the affinity of principles which are responsible for the harmonic and rhythmic hierarchy; therefore the bass function can be deputized also in a level of the rhythmic pulsation.
