Abstrakt Article “Synaesthesia as a metaphor (Relations of artistic layers in contemporary musical-theatre pieces)” deals with synaesthesia as an exceptional phenomenon which influences both creation and its reception, be it in its genuine or metaphorical form. Synaesthesia manifests itself as the communication of different modes of perception and thinking which are usually considered as separated. This communication should be related to the communication of different or contrary artistic layers in (not only) contemporary work. In my article I deal with the context and consequences of synaesthesia, trying to focus on its common roots. The backbone of the text is an analysis of how this phenomenon is reflected in musical-theatre pieces created by contemporary artists.
